Gateway to the Yarra Valley wine region and frequently described as ‘Country in the City’, Warrandyte and Warrandyte North are separated by the Yarra River and connected by the historic Warrandyte Bridge. Bordered by Park Orchards, Wonga Park, Kangaroo Ground and Doncaster East, residents enjoy a leafy environment with easy access to Melbourne’s CBD via the Eastern Freeway, and Melbourne Airport via the Western Ring Road.

In the mid 1800s, Warrandyte was a gold mining community. By the late 1800s the area was popular among artists and those seeking rural pursuits. Post war years saw closer settlement and many of the larger land holdings were subdivided for housing. In the 1970s Warrandyte was included into the ‘Green Wedge’ to limit subdivision ensuring the area retained its unique character and diverse flora and fauna. Today the welcoming and vibrant community of Warrandyte with its village feel boasts a strong café culture, a wonderful mix of speciality stores including monthly outdoor artisan market, restaurants and numerous sporting facilities. We invite you to spend a day in Warrandyte and surrounds to get a taste of the lifestyle you and your family can enjoy.

To assist you with your visit, we’ve created a downloadable guide so you too can live like a Warrandyte local. We acknowledge that we are in the country of the Wurundjeri people. We pay respect to their tribal elders, celebrate their continuing culture, and acknowledge the memory of their ancestors.
